When Do I Receive My P45 After Leaving Citrus?

If you've recently left Citrus, you might be wondering about your P45 and when you can expect to receive it. This guide will help answer your questions.

What is a P45?

A P45 is a document issued by your employer when you leave a job. It provides a summary of your earnings and taxes paid during your employment and is essential for:

  • Starting a new job (to ensure correct tax code usage).

  • Claiming tax refunds.

  • Applying for certain benefits.

When Will I Receive My P45?

At Citrus, we aim to issue your P45 promptly after your final payroll has been processed. Therefor you will expect to get it with your final Payslip ON PAYDAY.

Here’s how the process works:

  1. Final Pay Calculation:

    • After your last working day, your final pay is calculated, including any outstanding payments such as unused holiday pay.

  2. Payroll Completion:

    • Your final payroll is processed during the usual payroll cycle.

    • This ensures all taxes and National Insurance contributions are accurately recorded.

  3. Issuance of P45:

    • Once your final pay has been processed, your P45 will be prepared.

    • The document is typically sent via email or post within 5 working days of payroll completion.
